The Arkansas Economic Commission put out a report last week showing Arkansas revenues are up 11% over last year. Year to date, we have a surplus that is 27% above the forecast!
Crystal Bridges, just announced that they’re going to be adding 100,000 square feet to Crystal Bridges complex in northwest Arkansas. I am very excited about this expansion. Global Business Alliance has named Arkansas as one of the top 10 states for foreign direct investment. That means that we have a lot of foreign companies coming here. One example is the Foshee facility, an ammo company, which is an Italian company. They are adding another production line, so they’re going to be adding 60 new jobs here in Little Rock. Another expansion here in Little Rock is Windsor Doors. They’re about to add a third production line so they’re going to be adding 42 jobs. The expansions are not just here in Little Rock, Cypress Cove storage and Maumelle is expanding to add 30 new jobs. Coretec in Benton, a ceramic maker, says that they are about to add 50 new jobs. Another announcement was Tyson foods, they are making a $48, million-dollar investment in Pine Bluff. This will have 100 jobs coming when they finish.
If you are interested in moving your company to Arkansas, let me know, I’d be more than happy to work with you, the chambers, and the government to help you move here.
